Great support throughout Finals series
The number of Rovers supporters at semi finals and finals matches has been awesome. The committee is most appreciative of this support and of course the participating teams are over the moon.
Grand Finals are here at Last
With the grand finals weekend upon us let’s get ready to continue our support to help get the remaining teams across the line:
Saturday
- W12B Vs Caringbah Redbacks at 8.30 at Kareela 3
- W14B Vs Engadine Crusaders at 10.00 at Kareela 4
- 14B Vs Bosco at 2.30 at Kareela 4
- 16B Vs Gymea United at 1.00 at Harry Denning 1
How good is that all the games at the same precinct and none clash by their game times. Just head for Kareela, take a packed lunch and camp for the day. Wow: how good is that!
Sunday
- W30C Vs Bonnet Bay at 8.30 at The Ridge 3
This should be a real crowd puller. Last game of the season and an 8.30 start. That’s another: how good is that!
Congratulations to all five teams and good luck for the weekend
Senior Presentation & end of year celebrations
Our Social Secretary Kath Tanner is starting to worry as the sale of tickets for the end of year celebrations & senior team’s presentations has been really slow. To help her out you need to get in touch with your team manager now so they can organise a table. All teams are welcome. You are welcome even if your team is not attending. All the details, including how to pay, are to be found in the information leaflet that Kath has provided and I have included at the end of this edition of Top Corner. Hope to see you there as this is the fun night of the year.
Some humour
A senior citizen drove his brand new Holden Senator out of the dealership. Taking off down the road, he pushed it to 120 kph, enjoying the power of the car. “Amazing,” he thought as he flew down the F3, pushing the pedal even more.
Looking in his rear view mirror, he saw a highway patrol car, blue lights flashing and siren blaring.
He floored it to 140 kph, then 180kph, and then suddenly he thought, “What am I doing? I’m too old for this!” and pulled over to await the copper’s arrival.
Pulling in behind him, the copper got out of his vehicle and walked up to the car. He looked at his watch, and then said, “Sir, my shift ends in 30 minutes. Today is Friday. If you can give me a new reason for speeding – a reason I’ve never before heard – I’ll let you go.”
The old gentleman paused then said, “Thirty-three years ago, my wife ran off with a policeman, I thought you were bringing her back.”
“Have a good day, Sir,” replied the copper.
